This conjecture considers blocks of U(g) where g=Lie(G),
and G is a connected semi-simple simply connected  algebraic group 
over a field of prime characteristic p. We shall explain 
this 1998-th conjecture, review the previously confirmed  casees 
(due to K.Brown and I.Gordon) and indicate  a proof of it in case p is "good for G"
