Warwick Analytical Sciences Centre
Molecular Analytical Science Centre for Doctoral Training (MAS-CDT)
Applications are invited for fully-funded Studentships within the Warwick Analytical Science Centre (WASC) at the University of Warwick.
Molecular Analytical Science (MAS) Centre for Doctoral Training (CDT) offers a four year degree programme (MSc + PhD) in Multidisciplinary Analytical Science which aims to develop new techniques and methodologies and apply them in creative ways to solve real-world problems. The disciplines covered include chemistry, physics, statistics, mathematics, biology, engineering and computer science. Candidates with a first degree in any of these subjects are invited to apply.
All PhD projects will involve a combination of basic research into analytical techniques focused by the demands of an application area. The supervisors include WASC academics as well as industrial partners such as instrument manufacturers, technique users, consultants and analytical instrumentation users. Each MSc or PhD research project will be aimed at the creation of new instrumentation and techniques or improvements to existing methods to solve problems that cannot be tackled now.
MAS-CDT PhD students will obtain:
- an MSc in Molecular Analytical Science,
- a PhD in cross-discipline Analytical Science; and
- a Postgraduate Certificate in Transferable Skills in Science.
Studentships are available for UK citizens for 2014 entry (full fees + consumables budget and minimum £13.7k stipend). EU students can apply for a limited number of stipends covering tuition fees.
