  • Using Bioconductor in the R environment

A 1 day introduction to using Bioconductor , a set of freely available bioinformatic packages for the R statistical programming environment, to analyse data obtained from microarray experiments. This course was organised by Heather Turner of the University of Warwick department of statistics for ChipClub, the University of Warwick microarray user's group.

  • Genespring 7 Workshop, Levels I-IV

Date: October 2005
Location: University of Warwick

A 4 day training course on using the Genespring version 7 gene expression analysis suite, organised by Ewan Hunter of Silicon Genetics (now Agilent Technologies ). The four levels of the course cover all aspects of data analysis.

  • Generalised Linear Models

Date: November 2005
Location: Lancaster University

A 2 day introduction to the use of generalised linear models (GLMs) in the R statistical programming environment, organised by the Centre for Applied Statistics at Lancaster University.

  • Using LATEX

Date: 14th March 2007
Location: University of Warwick

An introduction to using the LaTeX typesetting system, run by the Warwick Graduate School's Centre for Student Development & Enterprise. The course was taken by Bruce Westbury 

  • Adobe Illustrator and Photoshop CS

Date: May 2007
Location: University of Warwick

A 2 day introduction to the Adobe vector based drawing software package Illustrator, and the Adobe graphics editor software package Photoshop. The course was provided by Steve Waldron from New Horizons Computer Learning Centres.
