Quantitative Nanoscale Imaging Techniques for Neuroscience

In this project, we are working on adapting and improving current SECM techniques for use on cells and neurons.

The first technique we are looking at is a dual-barrelled carbon nanoprobe (DBCNP) which combines scanning electrochemical microscopy with scanning ion conductance microscopy. This gives the advantage of measuring the electrochemical activity of a surface of interest, while using a non-contact method of constant height control.
