Why Physics?

Physics is a practical subject full of beautiful ideas. If you study physics, you will be exploring deep questions about the origin of the universe. You will also develop many useful skills - the ability to understand new concepts quickly, to tackle difficult problems and to explain complex information clearly and with insight.

Undergraduate Study

We have 3-year (BSc) and 4-year (MPhys) degrees in Physics and in Maths & Physics, and a 3-year Physics and Business Studies (BSc) degree. These offer great flexibility and good employment, and higher degree, prospects when you graduate.

Postgraduate Study

The Department has an established international reputation for research and teaching excellence. Our research is driven by our enthusiasm for discovering and applying physics, and our aim is to transmit that excitement to our postgraduate students.

Teaching

Warwick offers a supportive and friendly environment in which to study. You will learn not just from the lectures and laboratories but also from interacting with others on your course, research students and your friends from outside physics.

We really teach you to be a scientist, a physicist, to ask... what are the theories, where are the gaps in our understanding.
