Course Director: Dr Erwin Verwichte

The Centre for Fusion, Space and Astrophysics (CFSA) at the University of Warwick hosted the 2012 STFC Advanced Summer School in Solar Physics. The School's programme consisted of a set of specialised lectures in advanced topics in solar physics, as well as hands-on and transferrable skills sessions in solar data and numerical analysis. The school, which is run annually by a UK University or Institute, is suitable for PhD students entering their second or third years, as well as early-stage postdocs.

The School also had a social programme to enable students to establish links with students from the solar community. This included an icebreaker, a pub quiz, an excursion to a local Warwickshire attraction and a conference diner.
