Dr Sourabh Barua

Background

Dr Sourabh Barua completed his Ph.D. in Physics at the Indian Institute of Technology Kanpur, India. His Ph.D. thesis topic was the electrical transport studies of topological insulator materials Bi2Te3, Sb2Te3 and Bi2-xSbxTe3-ySey.

Research at Warwick

Dr Barua worked on an EPSRC funded project Topological Insulators: A study of bulk crystalline and Nanomaterials. This project involved growing single crystals and nanomaterials of topological insulators and topological crystalline insulators and other related materials. The structure and composition of the materials that were prepared were probed using X-ray diffraction and electron microscopy. The transport and magnetic properties of the samples were then investigated.

Resulting Publications

Signatures of the Kondo effect in VSe2, S. Barua, M. C. Hatnean, M. R. Lees, and G. Balakrishnan, Scientific Reports 7, 10964 (2017).
