Peter Brommer, from the Warwick Theory Group and CSC, has won a Best Poster award at the prestigious European Materials Research Society conference in Strasbourg, for his work on the band structure of graphene on copper. Working with David Quigley, Neil Wilson and Gavin Bell, he has implemented a new method in CASTEP for extracting band structures from huge supercells, enabling us to compare experimental ARPES data to first-principles band structures.
