Annual IoP Condensed Matter Theory group meeting

University of Warwick, Tuesday 19 December 2006

This is an opportunity for all interested in Condensed Matter Theory to meet and to hear talks from four invited speakers. Poster presentations are also welcomed. Please register online.

Programme.

10.30 - 16.50 To include 4 Speakers, Poster Session AGM and Lunch

Confirmed Speakers include:

Austen Lamacraft (Oxford) - Quantum quenches in a spinor condensate
Vladimir Falko (Lancaster) - Unusual electronic properties of graphene (atomically thin graphitic films)
Martin Lueders (Daresbury) - Density functional theory for superconductors or how to get rid of mu
Ralph Kenna (Coventry) - Logarithmic corrections to scaling

AGM Agenda items and election nominations should be sent to the Hon. Secretary as soon as possible. The group needs to elect new Chairman and Hon. Secretary/Treasurer and (in total) at least five new committee members.

The meeting will be held in Physics' Building, first on the right after you enter the loop road on Main Campus. If you are coming by car, car parks on Campus are FREE outside term. The large multi-story, no 15, requires an exit code (ask at meeting).
