I am a visiting fellow in Astronomy & Astrophysics group in the Department of Physics, working with Prof. T.R.Marsh. My research interests are accretion in, and the evolution of close binary stars, in particular cataclysmic variables.
Prof Bianchi Mendez
Bianchi Mendez has joined the Microscopy Group as Visiting Academic. She is Professor in Materials Science at Universidad Complutense de Madrid (Spain), where she works at the Physics of Electronic Nanomaterials Group. Her research focuses on the study of optical and electronic properties of electronic nanomaterials, with a particular attention to their relationship with their structural features. During the last ten years, her main attention has been the study of nanostructures based on semiconducting oxide materials, such as nanowires or nanobelts, with the aim to exploit their featured physical properties for future applications in sensor and energy devices.
Prof Francisco Dominguez-Adame
Francisco Dominguez-Adame has joined the Theoretical Physics Group as Visiting Academic, working with Rudolf A. Roemer. He is Professor in Applied Physics at Universidad Complutense de Madrid (Spain) and leads the Quantum Nanosystems Group (www.qng.es). His research focuses on the quantum properties of ultra-small semiconductor and organic structures with the aim to investigate theoretically new, unusual and unexpected phenomena. In particular, he studies the electronic and optical properties of nanostructures that could be the basis of novel electronic devices.
