Derrick Watson

 

Derrick Watson is a Professor and since January 2020 has been Head of the Psychology Department. As Head of Department, Derrick’s priorities include improving student experience, ensuring a diverse and inclusive environment for staff and students and maintaining the Department’s reputation for internationally recognised research.

Interests:

Mechanisms of visual selection and attentional prioritisation in particular, visual search, visual marking, subitization, motion processing, inhibition of return and attentional capture by abrupt onsets. Road safety, driver performance and driving simulation.
