Research

I have just completed my PhD working under the supervision of Prof. Jim Smith. My research interests lie in the field of algebraic statistics and centre around probability trees, staged trees, chain event graphs and causality.

In April 2017 I will start a nine-week Leibniz Fellowship at the Mathematisches Forschungsinstitut Oberwolfach and from May 2017 I will be a postdoctoral researcher in Bernd Sturmfels' Non-Linear Algebra group at the Max Planck Institut für Mathematik in den Naturwissenschaften in Leipzig, Germany.

I hold a degree in mathematics from Karlsruhe Institute of Technology, Germany. My Diplomarbeit 'Methods of Semi-Algebraic Geometry in Gaussian Statistical Models' was supervised by Prof. Frank Herrlich and Prof. Norbert Henze.
