Work on your project runs concurrently with your module study. You will be able to choose project or suggest one of your own and a member of staff will guide you through the process of writing a dissertation. Examples of some projects are:

  • Mobile based concert organization and promotion in Nigeria
  • A reverse auction based wedding portal
  • An electronic marketplace for small businesses
  • Unijobs – a jobs portal for students

The taught component of the course is a mixture of traditional lectured material, syndicate/group work, large scale delivery, practical work, online learning and forum activities. Module leaders are experts in their fields and are supported by external speakers working in organisations at the forefront of their fields.

Industrial visits are available to all students and the course is assessed through assignments, not exams.

Each module usually lasts one week. There is more information here about the course structure.

 Muge Erdem

"The first thing that struck me was how open minded the academic staff are. They encouraged us all to participate and not just sit in lectures taking notes. They also wanted us to be daring and take risks, think outside the box and try to imagine things that had never been thought of before – and to unleash our own creativity and inventiveness"
