The University of Warwick is very conveniently located in the centre of England. We are just three miles from the centre of Coventry; which is a city of around 350,000 people.

Coventry is a historic city, and many of our students choose to make their home in Coventry. Did you know that Coventry has two cathedrals? The city has both an old and a new cathedral.

Coventry, which was built up around motor manufacture and engineering, has recently been named as the UK’s City of Culture for 2021, so there are plenty of exciting developments and events happening within the city right now.

London is only a one hour train journey from Coventry stations; and the centre of Birmingham is just 20 minutes away by train. This makes exploring either of these fantastic cities really easy to do at the weekend or in your free-time. Birmingham International Airport is a 20-minute drive from campus, meaning that you can easily access a range of global cities.

Surrounding area

The University is only a few miles from the lovely towns of Leamington Spa, Kenilworth, Warwick and Stratford-upon-Avon. The town of Warwick is famous for its medieval castle (which dates back 11 centuries), and the beautiful town of Stratford-upon-Avon is well-known as the birthplace of William Shakespeare. Whilst you are at University with us, why not catch a performance of one of Shakespeare's plays performed by the Royal Shakespeare Company in Stratford-upon-Avon.

Lakeside residencesAccommodation

The University has an extensive range of on-campus accommodation including flats and halls of residence with fast internet access included in the price.

Many Master's students chose to live off-campus in Coventry, with shared houses in the Earlsdon and Chapelfields areas being particularly convenient and popular with students. Additionally, the city centre of Coventry boasts a number of students accommodation blocks, where you will have a private room. Some students opt to live in towns surrounding the University; including Kenilworth and Leamington. Wherever you choose to live, the region benefits from good bus connections to the university.
