In this interview for German Cancer Congress, Jeremy refers to remote monitoring of patients receiving chemotherapy, or to evidence-based decision support systems which can assist the physician in selecting the appropriate therapy or aftercare.
In the past, however, e-health projects have often been technology-driven. I think, it should be the other way round: start with what the real health problem is - from the perspective of patients, healthcare professionals and the healthcare system, and design the system according to their needs. This approach also makes it easier to evaluate e-health systems.
In his lecture at the DKK2012, Jeremy will explain the use of randomized controlled trials in the evaluation of e-health projects.
