Research Interests

Dr Schiller specialises in the synthesis and characterisation of polymer and polymer nanocomposites. Dr Schiller is armed with extensive advanced materials characterisation experience including conducting in-situ experiments on Synchrotron beamlines. Dr Schiller's background in characterisation techniques such as spectroscopy, electron microscopy, thermal and mechanical analysis is perfectly suited to investigate a broad spectrum of non-polymer materials and is currently undertaking projects in cardiac research (in collaboration with the Baker IDI) and working with ceramics.

Dr Schiller joined Warwick Manufacturing Group in 2014. Prior to her appointment Dr Schiller completed a PhD at the Queensland University of Technology in Brisbane Australia in 2010 examining gold polymer nanoparticles for bioassay applications and a Masters at the Royal Melbourne Institute of Technology (RMIT) University in 2005 in plasma modification of polymers. Dr Schiller has worked at the Commonwealth Scientific and Industrial Research Organisation (CSIRO), Australian Institute of Bioengineering and Nanotechnology at the University of Queensland, Monash University (where she currently holds an Adjunct appointment) and the University of New England. Dr Schiller has worked with water utilities and water research foundations from across the globe, on an EC framework programme and a range of businesses ranging from SME's to larger corporations.
