Biographies

Andy Birtwistle has recently joined Concentra, a data analytics company, as Director, Supply Chain Practice. He has 25 years of experience as a Supply Chain Manager and change agent in the oil, tobacco, pharmaceutical, Hi-tech and FMCG sectors.
He has a track record of driving and delivering strategic and operational improvement in global organisations. His most recent roles have included leading the development of European and Global Operating Models for Operations, the global implementation of APO and SAP BI, and the design and delivery of a global supply chain analytics capability which won the 2014 Supply Chain Excellence award for technology.
Andy is a Chartered Accountant and has a BSc in Mathematics and Computer Science from the University of Nottingham.

Professor Jan Godsell joined WMG in October 2013 from her prior position of Senior Lecturer at Cranfield University School of Management.
Professor Godsell's career has been split between both industry and academia. She joined the faculty of Cranfield in 2001, following the completion of her Executive MBA there. She also completed her PhD at Cranfield, researching the development of a customer responsive supply chain.
Prior to her return to academia, Professor Godsell developed a successful career within industry, beginning at ICI/Zeneca Pharmaceuticals. Following this, she worked up to senior management level at Dyson, in both Supply Chain and Operations Management functions. At Dyson, she undertook a number of operational and process improvement roles within R&D, customer logistics, purchasing and manufacturing.
Professor Godsell is a Chartered Engineer and Member of the IMechE. She is on the board and scientific committee of EurOMA (European Operations Management Association), the cabinet of the UK roundtable of CSCMP (Council of Supply Chain Management Professionals) and the manufacturing steering committee of the IMechE. She is on the editorial board of 3 journals, including the International Journal of Operations and Production Management, and she is an advocate for improving the uptake of STEM subjects by school children.

Graham Stevens has been involved in Supply Chain Management for over 40 years. An early advocate of SCI, his seminal work “Integrating The Supply Chain,” published in 1990, continues to be cited today. His career includes 30 years in consulting, including 10 years as Supply Chain Consulting Partner with KPMG. He has also held the position of Supply Chain Director with one of the UK's leading consumer products companies. He is experienced in all aspects of Supply Chain Strategy, Operations and IT Enabled Supply Chain Management. Recognised as a highly insightful professional who can rapidly analyse business issues, formulate viable solutions, initiate change and implement new ways of working in challenging and diverse environments.
Graham has conducted numerous projects during his career across a wide range of industries, including: consumer products, chemicals, industrial products, automotive, aerospace and defence, marine, retail, electronics and pharmaceuticals. He has gained international experience in Europe, US, Middle East and Far East.
Graham is a Chartered Engineer and Member of the IMechE. He has published many articles, and spoken at numerous Supply Chain conferences. His focus is on the pragmatic application of innovative thinking with an emphasis on leveraging the Supply Chain as an enabler of business performance. He has recently published a follow-up article to his early work in which he considers the evolution of SCM over the last 25 years, addresses the need to extend the 1990 conceptualization and asks the question: has Supply Chain Management delivered to its promise?
