Education research ranked 3rd in the Research Excellence Framework 2014

Staff in CEDAR were submitted to the REF under the Education Unit of Assessment along with other researchers at Warwick who work in the Education field, primarily in the Centre for Education Studies (CES) and the Centre for Applied Linguistics (CAL). We were ranked 3rd in the UK for the quality of our research (its originality, significance and rigour) weighted by the proportion of eligible staff submitted - 93% of all staff including 100% of CEDAR’s staff. 76% of our research was rated as ‘world-leading’ or ‘internationally excellent’.

Professor Geoff Lindsay, Director of CEDAR says:

We are delighted with the results of the REF which were achieved by Education researchers at Warwick. I am particularly pleased with the contribution of CEDAR to this success. This result confirms the quality of education research at Warwick and CEDAR’s position as one of the major research centres in education research in the UK. We now look forward to building upon this achievement in the future.
