Diane Levine

Welcome to my e-portfolio.

I have completed an ESRC-funded PhD in the Centre for Education Studies at the University of Warwick, supervised by Mick Hammond.

Previously I was Head of Educational Research and Analysis at Becta, the UK government agency for technology in education, where I very much enjoyed commissioning a multi-million pound research programme. My team and I worked with the academic community to enhance our collective knowledge about technology for learning, and used the evidence and intelligence we gathered to create, advise and improve government policy. Prior to that I was a Programme Manager at the National Academy for Gifted and Talented Youth, with responsibility for developing technology futures services for the young people we worked with.

This focus on technology may seem a bit odd given that I started out as a primary school music teacher, following undergraduate and MA studies at Warwick some years ago, but it isn't that surprising in a context where technology - like the arts - are part of the fabric of learning and life.

Alongside my role supporting research development in the College of Social Sciences, Arts and Humanities at the University of Leicester, I love playing music and singing, spending time outdoors, crafting and being with my wonderful family, especially our daughters, Ada and Rosalind.
