Biography

Juliet completed her undergraduate studies at Manchester University in the early 1990s, studying Theatre Studies and English Literature. After a successful career working for Geese Theatre Company (who specialize in applied theatre practice in the criminal justice system) and The Birmingham Repertory Theatre Juliet decided to return to education and completed her Masters in Drama and Theatre Education and her PhD in The Centre for Education Studies. Juliet has gone on to develop a passion for teaching and learning in a Higher Education context and has taken on the roles of both Director of Undergraduate Studies and Director of Education within CES.

Current Projects

  • Developing department projects and projects with the University's central Widening Participation team to design creative and participative workshop experiences for young people aged 13 to 18.
  • WIHEA working party exploring Peer Observation
  • Part of the CES working-party planning the IDiERI Conference 2021
  • In my role as Director of Education in CES I am currently conducting a review of assessment practices in CES. This links to a wider interest in innovative predagogy and assessment in Higher Education.
