Wales (10,152) and Northern Ireland (6,876) have the smallest concentration of people working in the hair and beauty sector.

There are 35,369 people employed in the sector in the South East, accounting for 14.4% of UK employment in the sector. The North West has the second highest number of people employed in the sector (33,294 people), accounting for 13.5% of UK employment in the sector.

Wales and the North East have the lowest proportion of workplaces in the UK.
