Why Warwick?

The IDLHR programme is indeed a minefield for committed and critical research into the problems of global justice. It makes any researcher question the concepts and practices underlying the dominant approaches to global justice; approaches that seem to comfortably co-exist with deepening global injustice. The IDLHR programme never really leaves anyone the same.

Where are they now?

I am currently a second year PhD Student at the University of Edinburgh School of Law. My research is on the conceptualisation of effective alternative approaches to Peace Building in multi-ethnic/religious societies experiencing recurrent deadly violence in the face of, and in spite of national, regional and international efforts aimed at building peace. My proposition is that peace cannot be effectively fostered in plural societies without cognitive justice. This project was conceived while I was a student of the International Development Law and Human Rights (IDLHR) program at the University of Warwick.
