Fana Berhane


Hi and Welcome to my ePortfolio!

My name is Fana Hagos Berhane and I am a third year PhD students at the Warwick University School of Law. My research interest focuses on scaling up of HIV testing of Pregnant women in Ethiopia: from human Right and Ethics perspective. I hold a Bachelor’s degree in Law from Addis Ababa University and a Masters of Law (LLM) from University of Free State (South Africa).

I began my career as a public prosecutor in the Tigray Regional State Government Bureau of Justice where I was also involved drafting state legislations including the revised regional family law. In 2004, I joined Mekelle University as an assistant lecturer and since then I have been teaching and researching on the areas of Human rights law, African Human Rights law and Gender and the Law. I have been awarded different scholarships and grants including by the University of Free State (South Africa), University of Amsterdam (the Netherlands) and CERTWID- Addis Ababa University.
