Jodrell Bank the first UK radiotelescope is completed

In October 1957, Jodrell Bank, the UK's first radiotelescope was completed. Althogh ostensibly a civil research facility, during the Cold War it was used for a variety of defence purposes, including intelligence. This included efforts to track Soviet missiles and also attempts to collect Soviet signals from Central Asia, reflected from the moon.
