Research

Regardless of their specific focus, all of my research interests have an IPE/IR grounding of some sort. I am most interested in the activities of international organisations, particularly the IMF and the World Bank, in the global political economy. My PhD project aims to explore the nature of Fund-Bank collaboration.

Research interests
  • International Political Economy (IPE) and International Relations (IR)
  • International organisations (IMF and World Bank)
  • Collaborative global governance
  • Global (economic) governance
  • Foreign aid policy
  • Global sports

Toolbox

In my research, I have so far employed qualitative methods, such as elite interviews or qualitative document analysis. I have also begun to experiment with coding techniques as a set of somewhat more formalised research methods. While the particular theoretical perspective that I adopt depends on the topic at hand, I tend more towards interpretive approaches.
