The PAIS Department draws together a diverse, well-informed and, above all, passionate group of people where debating issues is a prerequisite of any meeting, whether inside a seminar or after a few pints on the Terrace Bar. It may well be this continuous wish to scrutinise topics beyond the scope of the classroom that makes the course so apposite for politics. The varied nature of the course allows great scope for the pursuit of topics that are of personal interest, with staff who are always willing to help in the quest.
