I worked as a university researcher and political organizer in Hong Kong for several years after graduation. I realized, however, that I needed to further hone my research skills and deepen my knowledge of political economy in order to fulfill my career and social goals. That’s why I decided to do an MA in IPE.

I had a memorable experience at PAIS back in 2008 when I was an undergraduate exchange student. Indeed, it was the excellent learning environment of Warwick and prestigious teaching quality of PAIS that has led to me returning to this ‘old friend’ again. I am grateful to find the department doing consistently well throughout the years.

Doing an MA in IPE at PAIS has particularly benefited me in two ways. Firstly, I found that the wide spectrum of research expertise of the PAIS scholars matches the academic subjects I am interested in. This is crucial because being able to receive professional guidance is vital for postgraduates – we are expected not just to broaden our horizon, but also to make in-depth investigations on specific subject areas. Secondly, the caring support and fabulous events organized by PAIS have substantially strengthened my study. For example, the Wednesday workshops provide essential information that prepares us for successful postgraduate study. Also, the weekly departmental seminars keep students updated with fascinating research outcomes of the latest academic trends.

Therefore, if you were looking for a promising postgraduate study programme, I would not hesitate to recommend PAIS to you!
