BA Politics with International Studies 2011
I applied to Warwick because of its prestigious reputation in both academics and extracurricular activities. After visiting for an open day I knew that the buzz on campus and plethora of activities going on made Warwick the right place for me. I chose to study Politics with International Studies and have thoroughly enjoyed the range of subject areas within this field that I have been able to explore, including studying some modules from other departments. Choosing to study in Madrid on the ERASMUS programme as an intercalated year also allowed me to develop my language skills whilst exploring another culture and academic system.
University life for me has been enhanced by the opportunity to engage in so many different clubs and societies and explore new activities. I have really appreciated the chance to be active in international development and social campaigning movements which have been mutually beneficial to my studies. During my time at Warwick I have organised conferences, run sleep-out demonstrations, volunteered locally, and produced a play, despite having no previous experience. There has been support and encouragement from all areas of the University to get involved, take on responsibility and develop passions and initiative.
