Course Structure

If you study at Waterloo first:

  • Apply online using the University of Waterloo online application system. Expressions of interest are welcome and should be directed to Andrew Thompson at BSIA (asthompson@balsillieschool.ca) or Melissa Venables in PAIS (m.j.wolfe@warwick.ac.uk) in the first instance. The application deadline is 22 January, so enquiries should be made well in advance of this date.
  • After receiving your Waterloo offer, submit a fast-track application through the Warwick online system. Contact Melissa Venables for guidance on getting your application fast-tracked.
  • Here is the link to the Waterloo International Office: https://uwaterloo.ca/international/
  • Students who begin at Waterloo normally take six courses during their first two terms, and spend their third term an intern.
  • You may complete an internship in the gap between Years 1 and 2.
  • If you are not a British student, you are encouraged to attend the 1-week Warwick International Office welcome programme as it provides a good introduction to life in the UK and the university.
  • If English is not your native language, you may also wish to attend the pre-sessional English course to increase your confidence and get a jump start on settling into life in Coventry.
  • In Year 2, you will follow the MA programme in PAIS of your choice, which includes a 40 CATS (credits) core module and 80 CATS of optional modules.
  • You will complete a joint 15,000 word dissertation at Warwick with an advisor from PAIS and an advisor from Waterloo.
