Deadline Dates for MA Module Essays and Dissertation by Programme - Full Time Students and Part Time Students

You are required to discuss essay topics with module tutors at the earliest opportunity and before the module finishes. Students must have their essay titles approved by their course tutors (email approval is acceptable) and the appropriate online form (see the top right hand side of this webpage) must be submitted with email approvals from tutors by the dates as follows: (this applies to all MA modules apart from PH9F2 Research Methods, which has its own pattern of assessment as described on the module webpage for this module):

Please note any full time MA student who wishes to apply for a PhD should submit a draft essay to their referee(s) by early January to allow the referee(s) the chance to view work prior to writing a reference.

Part-time students are encouraged to submit work to the below deadlines. However, they may defer submission of essays for some modules, as long as they adhere to the following general pattern of submission:

  • For First Year part-time students - at least one module essays are due by Midday on Wednesday 6th June 2018 (please note one essay will be submitted on Wednesday 10th January 2018 - so a total of two essays will be submitted in Year 1).
  • For Second Year part-time students - all remaining module essays are due by Midday on Wednesday 6th June 2018.

As each MA programme has a slightly different submission pattern, please find deadlines by programme:

Full and Part Time Student Deadlines - MA Continental Philosophy
Full and Part Time Student Deadlines - MA Philosophy
Full and Part Time Student Deadlines - MA Philosophy and the Arts (both routes)
