1: NSS student satisfaction

The last NSS survey showed that over 90% of students found the course to be intellectually stimulating, with  94% highlighting their teachers as good at explaining and easy to contact.

In the 2014 Research Excellence Framework (REF), PPE performed excellently. Philosophy was rated 1st in the UK for research output, Politics and International Studies ranked 1st for Research Environment, and Economics had 96% of its research rated World Leading or Internationally Excellent.

Be part of a vibrant student community with many student societies, including our award-winning PPE Society. The PPE Society organises public lectures with high profile speakers and many social events, with the annual PPE ball as a highlight. It also runs a parenting scheme for first-year students and professional mentoring to enhancing career networking.

7: Flexibility

We offer a flexible degree programme that allows students to pursue their own interests. Students at honours level can choose to specialise in two PPE disciplines or continue with all three disciplines. All students benefit from a large selection of optional modules.

Our ‘bridge model’ of teaching and learning means you have opportunities to combine insights at the intersection of philosophy, politics, and economics, both through interdisciplinary modules and extra-curricular events.

There are excellent opportunities to be in contact with experts in the field, from regular seminars and tutorials to specialisation through a dissertation or research project in your final year.
