Jacky Swan

Jacky Swan is Professor of Organizational Behavior at Warwick Business School, University of Warwick, UK. She completed her doctorate in Psychology at the University of Wales, before working for a period in Canada as a teaching fellow. She returned to the UK to Aston and then Warwick Universities. She is founding member of IKON - research centre in Innovation Knowledge and Organizational Networks - and conducts her research in related areas (for details click here). Her interests are in linking innovation and networking to processes of managing knowledge and information and she is currently working on studies of managing knowledge in project-based environments and of cultural change in construction. She has been responsible for a number of UK Research Council projects and advises funding bodies on commissioning research. She has published widely, including articles in Information Systems JournalEuropean Journal of Information SystemsOrganization StudiesOrganizationJournal of Management StudiesHuman Relations. She is co-author of the book, 'Managing Knowledge Work' (Palgrave, 2002) and has guest edited several journal special issues (e.g. Journal of Information Technology). As well as acting as reviewer and committee member for various conferences and journals, she has organized three major conferences in the UK and launched the international conference series on Organizational Knowledge, Learning and Capabilities.

Jacky is currently focussing on the implementation of innovation in healthcare. She is the Principal investigator on an EPSRC-funded project on 'The Management and Organization of Clinical Trials' and an SDO-funded project on 'Evidence in Management Decisions - Advancing Knowledge Utilization in Healthcare Management'.
