Congratulations to Nicola Burgess
Huge congratulations to Nicola Burgess on her appointment as Associate Professor in Operations Management
New research by Nicola Burgess and WBS colleagues has found that hybrid middle managers – nurses and doctors that have moved from the frontline into management roles – are ignored by their peers, making it difficult to share knowledge up the chain of command due to a professional hierarchy where high status doctors ‘shut down’ peers of a ‘lower’ status.
The International Journal of Operations and Production Management has published another paper by Rhian Silvestro and Paola Lustrato. This explores how the 'mid office' concept enables mas customization in services.
