Festival of the Imagination: Ticket release!

festival

We’re delighted to share with you the full programme for the main event of our year of anniversary celebrations - the Festival of the Imagination.

Taking place on the 16 and 17 October, and created in the spirit we've embodied for the last 50 years, the Festival of the Imagination will be an innovative public showcase for our most forward-thinking academic research and debate, all planned and produced by colleagues from across the University, and hosted on our campus.

After work on Friday 16 October we'd love all staff to get involved and come along to the Butterworth Hall to experience our interactive Discovery Zone. From 4pm you can discover how chocolate powered racing cars work, what life is like in a freezer, put your questions to a real-life polar explorer, and what it takes to make robots and quadrocopters work. Or you might prefer to start the evening by heading over to the piazza for a feast of international street food or a celebratory drink with colleagues. There’ll be a mini version of our much-loved farmers’ market, our anniversary-inspired cocktail ‘Pearls of Wisdom’ or ‘Hopping Grad’ - Warwick’s celebratory beer. There’ll also be entertainment from some of our talented student societies.

The Festival will continue with stimulating talks and debates, cookery master classes with a healthy twist, opportunities to take taster classes and much, much more. Some of the high profile names we’ve secured are Vivek Singh, Torin Douglas, Mark Wood and Pauline Black.

All staff and your families are invited and we would encourage you to spread the news with friends outside of the University. The interactive Discovery Zone and many of the talks and debates are free so that everyone can join in with the celebrations. We’re sure that you’ll leave feeling energised, full of imaginative thoughts and willing to explore your potential.

Thank you to the many staff who have already been involved in putting together talks, discussions and helping out with school and public engagement.

If you would like to get more involved, there will be opportunities to volunteer right at the heart of the Festival. Keep an eye open for future Insite articles and Window on Warwick sessions, where you’ll find out how you can be part of the Festival.
