Do you know someone outside of the University community with the abilities, experience and qualities to contribute to our University Council? From August 2017 we anticipate that there will be two vacancies for enthusiastic and committed external independent members on the University's governing body, the Council.

Under the agreed procedure for the appointment of independent members of the Council (Ordinance 4) it is open to any member of the University to propose names to fill these vacancies, for initial consideration by the Nominations Committee of the University Council.

Nominations for those with expertise in the areas of digital technologies, medicine or manufacturing are particularly encouraged.

Nominations for appointment should be forwarded in writing to the Secretary to the Council, Mrs Philippa Glover, and should be accompanied by a detailed statement setting out how the nominee meets the criteria for appointment.
