International research funding success

Congratulations to the five Warwick academics who have been awarded research grants through the recent SPRINT 2015 call for proposals to the joint Warwick-FAPESP fund.

Dr. Rohit Bhagat (WMG), Dr. Katherine Denby (Life Sciences), Dr. Ross Forman (English), Dr. Jo Garde-Hansen (Cultural Policy Studies), and Dr. John Walsh (Life Sciences) have each been awarded funding to further develop existing research collaborations with colleagues at a variety of institutions across the State of São Paulo.

SPRINT (São Paulo Researchers in International Collaboration) is a strategy designed to encourage and promote the advancement of international research by funding researchers affiliated with institutions in the State of São Paulo, Brazil, and their academic partners abroad.

Professor Tim Jones, Pro-Vice-Chancellor (Science, Engineering & Medicine) said:

This is an excellent outcome for our Warwick researchers and their academic partners in Brazil. This joint fund is designed to support international research collaborations between Warwick and São Paulo state I look forward to seeing how these collaborations continue to grow and develop. The fund is testament to Warwick’s commitment to developing research partnerships with one of the most influential regions in Latin America and is yet another success for Warwick’s growing activity in Brazil.”
