Results Day Funding Tips

Congratulations to all students joining us this autumn. Here you will find some useful tips about your next steps regarding your student finance.

Have you applied for your student finance yet?

If you wish to take a student loan for tuition fees or living expenses and have not yet submitted an application, you should do so now by visiting the relevant website below:

Student Finance England

Student Finance Wales

Student Finance Northern Ireland

Student Awards Agency for Scotland

You can find details of the support you might qualify for on our Student Funding 2017-18 page (students from England only).

What if my university or course has changed since my initial application?

If you are joining us through clearing or adjustment, you will need to update the details held on your student finance application. You can do this by visiting the relevant website listed above and logging in to your online account. This is important to ensure that your tuition fee loan and any maintenance support is paid on time.

What about bursaries or scholarships?

The University offers a generous package of non-repayable financial support to students. To find out more, please see our Warwick Scholarships and Bursaries page.

In order for us to assess you for a scholarship or bursary you should:

  • have applied to Student Finance England and provided details of your household income
  • have agreed for Student Finance England to share these details with the University. If your application is supported by your parent/s or partner, they will also need to provide this consent
  • update your University details if you have applied to Warwick through clearing or adjustment
  • If you attended an Independent School for your sixth form education, you should complete the online application form available from the Warwick Scholarships and Bursaries page and upload the appropriate evidence. Students who attended a state school do not have to submit an application form as your bursary will be assessed automatically.

Please be aware that we will not be able to assess you for a scholarship or bursary until your student finance assessment is complete and you have undertaken the above steps. If you think you might qualify for an award but have not heard anything by the start of the academic year, please contact us.

You can find details of alternative scholarships on our Other Funding Opportunities page.

What about managing my money when I get to University?

If you choose to take out a tuition fee loan, this will be paid directly to the University. Your maintenance loan and any grant will be paid into your bank account. If you have any queries about making payments to the university for tuition or accommodation fees, please see the Student Finance website.

You can find a large amount of information about budgeting, opening a student bank account and other financial issues in our Managing your Money section.
