CPD course approval

As departments offer more short courses to professionals and employers, the University recognises there is a need to be able to process requests for the accreditation and assurance of courses which will be certified by the University. The Proposal Form for New or Revised CPD courses facilitates the accreditation of such courses of up to 30 credits which are not Postgraduate Awards, Open Studies Certificates, or modules which form part of a Certificate, Diploma or Degree course.

If you are proposing a new CPD course of up to 30 credits, you should complete the form available to download on this page.

You should now submit the form to the Academic Registrar, instead of the CPD Office Manager, for agreement, before you send it to the relevant Faculty Board Sub-Committee. New credit-bearing CPD courses will not be approved without the Academic Registrar's signature.

  • Modules which form part of a Certificate, Diploma or Degree course should not be submitted on this form.
  • Postgraduate Awards (PGAs) should not be submitted on this form.
  • This form should not be used for CPD courses where there is no assessment and any certificate is issued only for attendance.
