Easter Scheme - Computer Animation

The children learnt about the history of animation - from phenakistoscopes to thaumatropes, cel and claymation, and how this applies to computer animation - and how the eye and brain are fooled into seeing movement by all of these. They also discussed what this is used for - from cartoons and movies to medicine and architecture.

They created animated gifs of themselves using stop motion capture and learnt about keyframes and tweening.

Finally they used an online animation program to create their own animated movies which can be seen below.
