What do I need to do on my first day?

Your pre-arrival information should contain details of where you need to go and who you need to report to on your first day. If you need further information please contact your departmental administrator/secretary in the first instance. You can find their details on your department's website or in your pre-arrival letter.

How do I get to the campus?

The University's visitor pages shows how to get to the University by car, bus, train, coach or bike.

The campus maps show the University's car parks. Visit the car parking web pages for information on charges in the campus car parks.

How do I get a University card?

On your first day your University card should be ready for you in your department. As well as being your staff identification, this card will give you access to University House, the Library, Sports Centre and other University facilities.

How do I obtain information about my salary?

Monthly paid staff should contact June Williamson in Payroll on ext. 51385. Manual members of staff or staff employed on a casual basis should take up the query with their immediate supervisor. If you are employed by Unitemps please contact Kim Martin on ext. 28118 or 73154.

Can I claim relocation expenses and if so how do I go about this?

I am an international member of staff, what additional information is there to help me?

The International Staff web pages provides information on the practicalites of living in the UK, including accommodation, banking, child care, driving and travelling, medical care, Income Tax and National Insurance.
