Academic Departments

How can IT Services help?

To discuss how IT Services can support your department, a future requirement or a current issue, please contact your department's IT Service Analyst.

Service analysts are your primary link into IT Services for non-operational matters. They will work with you to investigate your business requirements and ascertain where IT Services can support solutions and bring improvements. The Service Analysts have expertise in guiding you through a review of your processes, identifying improvements, prioritising and planning changes and shaping project proposals to implement major changes. The Project Management Office provides project management expertise and resource to structure and manage major projects. The Office will also provide guidance and assurance, where required, on projects managed elsewhere.

Communications with IT Services

There are many ways in which academic departments and IT Services communicate. Current channels include:

Faculty IT committees Staff/Student Liaison committees

Departmental meetings IT Operations group

Project boards and user groups Information and news on the IT Services web site.

Project and change specific communications - by email, newsletter and focus groups

We are very keen to improve our communication with you to ensure we have a better understanding of your requirements and that we spread awareness and use of current IT services. Please contact Mary Stott, Head of Service Development (mary dot stott at warwick dot ac dot uk ) to discuss. We could, for example, attend regular departmental meetings, have one-to-one meetings with Heads of Department or nominated departmental representatives. We are working on a regular bulletin email and an online magazine and welcome your feedback on both frequency and content.

Where issues are raised by more than one department and entail a development of current IT provision, they, and the progress against them, are logged here.
