Web based Authoring

It is possible to create and alter questions online. However, this method has the following restrictions: 

Browser Based Authoring only supports these question types:· 

      •  Multiple Choice  
      •  Yes/No  
      •  True/False  
      •  Likert scale 
      • Numeric  
      •  Multiple Response 
      •  Text Match  
      •  Essay

       If questions of the types shown in the table below have been made with Authoring Manager, they can be edited with Browser Based Authoring if they obey the appropriate conditions:

      • Only one element for the question wording is present
      • No more than one resource is included
      • The question wording, choices and feedback all contain entirely plain text or entirely HTML
      • Each choice has one and only one outcome
      Numeric
      • Only one element for the question wording is present
      • No more than one resource is included
      • The question wording, choices and feedback all contain entirely plain text or entirely HTML
      • Outcomes are structured as per the Authoring Manager Question Wizard
      Multiple Response
      • Only one element for the question wording is present
      • No more than one resource is included
      • The question wording, choices and feedback all contain entirely plain text or entirely HTML
      • All outcomes must have the accumulate option set (so that the outcome scores are added)
      Text Match
      • No more than one element for the question wording is present
      • No more than one resource is included
      • The question wording, choices and feedback all contain entirely plain text or entirely HTML
      • All outcomes must only have one string each (that is, they must not contain OR or AND operators)
      • All outcomes must employ the same case sensitivity in matching text
      • All outcomes must have MATCHES conditions, except the [OTHER] outcome
      • There is only one [OTHER] outcome
      • No outcome has the accumulate option set (so that the outcome scores are not added)
      Essay
      • No more than one element for the question wording is present
      • No more than one resource is included
      • The question wording, choices and feedback all contain entirely plain text or entirely HTML
      • Only one choice is present

       

      Assessments created in Authoring Manager

       Assessments made with Authoring Manager can be edited with Browser Based Authoring if:·  

      • They have only one question block, and either one or two score bands
      • They don’t have jumps  
      • They don’t branch to other assessments  
      • They don’t use references to special fields in the question selection  
      • Certain other advanced functionality is not used
