How to connect to your account - Outlook on PC

If it is the very first time you are connecting to your Live@edu mailbox, then you need to follow the instructions on accessing your Live@edu account.

Once you are successfully in, if you decide to use the Outlook client instead of the web version, then the following information may be of help to you.

  • If you are a member of staff whose mailbox was migrated to Live@edu in 2012 while you were absent, then once you have successfully achieved initial login to your new account (see instructions for how to do this), then you can just open the Outlook client and enter your new username ('usercode@live.warwick.ac.uk' NOT 'ads\usercode' as it used to be) with your new password. Microsoft Outlook client will then try to autodiscover the new server. Unfortunately this doesn't always work and if that is the case, then you will need to set up a new profile (instructions provided in the link below).
  • If you are a new member of the University and have Microsoft Outlook installed on your computer, then you will need to set up a profile (instructions provided in the link below).

Warning: Please do not re-set your own profile if you have been working offline as this could cause you to lose emails from your ‘drafts’ folder or outbox. If you have worked offline, please call the Help Desk for a profile reset on x73737.
