Eduroam - Mac OS X

Connecting to Eduroam using Mac OS X (10.4 and 10.5)
  • In the Apple menu, select the System Preferences Icon

  • In the System Preferences menu, click on the Network icon in the Internet & Network section.

  • Follow the method below for your version of Mac OS X.
    • From the Apple menu, select About This Mac.
    • The version number will appear in the window.

  • On the Network screen, unlock the page by selecting Click the lock to make changes if required, then select the Airport device and click on Configure.

  • Fill in the details as follows:
    Mac OS X New Network
    • Network Name: eduroam
    • Wireless Security: WPA2 Enterprise
    • Username: username@warwick.ac.uk - replace username with your 6 letter login name.
    • Password: your password
    • 802.1X Configuration: Automatic
  • Click OK
  • On the Network screen, unlock the page by selecting Click the lock to make changes if required, then Turn Airport On and click on Advanced

  • Click on + to add a new network.

  • Select Show Networks

  • Select eduroam and enter your eduroam details

    • Username: username@warwick.ac.uk - replace username with your 6 letter login name.
    • Password: your password
    • 802.1X Configuration: Automatic
    • Click Add
  • A Verify Certificate window will open with the message "The server certificate is not trusted because there are no explicit trust settings". Click on Show Certificate.

  • Tick the box to always trust these certificates
  • Click Continue
  • Your computer should now authenticate to the Eduroam network. If there are error messages, please check the settings above and that you are using the correct settings for your version of Mac OS X.
