Software on UNIX

A wide range of software is available on the central UNIX systems here at Warwick. A selection of commercial packages is available as well as a large selection of open-source software.

Currently, the majority of applications are available on the central SPARC based multiuser systems. Some applications are also available on the Linux systems in the A0.01 work area in the Mathematics and Statistics Building - the list below shows which are available on each platform. It is not possible for us to guarantee availability on both platforms due to licencing issues affecting many of the commercial applications.

If you are interested in or have requirements for software which is not shown below, then please contact our helpdesk who will be able to investigate whether or not it is currently available.
