Sitebuilder 2.263 - 8th June 2012 - Release notes

Sitebuilder 2.263 was released on 8th June 2012. Highlights from this release include:

Excluding subsites when copying pages (and including them on Find and Replace)

It's now possible to exclude subsites when copying pages. This may make it easier to restructure sites and get around the limitations for copying large sites.

It's also now possible to include subsites when running find and replace - previously, find and replace didn't go into subsites.

Facebook Like buttons for news feeds

It is now possible to enable "Like" buttons on News pages, that allow users to like particular stories on Facebook. Even if this isn't enabled, we now support the OpenGraph Protocol on individual news item pages, which should drastically improve how they appear when they are shared or liked on Facebook.

Permission groups for taught postgraduate students

We've now added new groups for taught postgraduate students and all students who aren't taught postgraduate (i.e. undergraduate students) to the permissions screen. You can add these by using the special group codes "PGTAUGHT" and "STUDENTNOPGT" (as well as "STUDENT" to include both).

General improvements and fixes

  • It is now possible to choose between term weeks, cumulative term weeks and academic term weeks in the display of the week number on Resource Bookings pages
  • You can now optionally hide redirects from sitemap pages
  • It should now be possible to insert map links again when editing in IE8
  • We have improved our handling of Twitter feeds which means that users are less likely to run into rate limiting problems where feeds don't display
  • We're reduced the amount of whitespace on calendar pages
  • When inserting audio or video files in the JScript editor, there is now a picker so you don't have to remember the URL
  • You can now edit more properties with the Atom API - see the documentation for details
  • You should now receive human-readable errors from the Atom API
