How do I create a custom template?

To create a custom template for reuse on your site, you need edit or admin permissions on your site's home page.
  1. Browse to the site where you want to add the custom template.
  2. Go to Edit > More > Current site tab. (You need edit or admin permissions on the home page to see this tab.)
  3. In the Site templates section, select Create:

  4. In the Site templates pop-up, enter a Name and Description which accurately represent this template. These properties appear in the Template options to other website editors.

  5. Leave Show in template gallery unselected for now. (You need to edit your template first before making it available for others to use.)
  6. Select the Save button.
  7. Edit your new template to start adding content to it.

Your template is not available for other people to use on your site until you make it visible in the Template options. See: how do I enable other people to use my template?
