How do I upload multiple files at once?

There are two ways to upload files in bulk to SiteBuilder:

Upload multiple files

  1. Browse to the page you want to upload files to.
  2. Go to Edit > More > Files tab. You can see a list of all the files, if any, currently uploaded to the page:

    Files tab

  3. Select the Upload button in the toolbar.
  4. On the Upload a file screen, select the Browse/Choose files button:

  5. Browse to the files you want to upload from your computer and use Ctrl/Cmd+click to select multiple files.
  6. On the Upload a file screen, select the Upload button:

  7. On the Uploading multiple files screen, confirm which files you wish to upload by selecting the checkbox alongside each file. Note that if a file with the same name exists, selecting the checkbox overwrites the previous file with the new version you're uploading.
  8. Optionally, specify a short tile for the files. The short title appears in the contents list page template. You can use this property to help make a list of files such as course notes more readable. For example, a short title of Classical Studies CS101 reading list is simpler to read than the file name cs101-reading.docx. The Short title defaults to the file name and you can edit it later in file properties.

  9. Select the Upload selected button.
  10. You should now see your files listed on the Files tab.

Upload a ZIP file

Note:

  • HTML files cannot be uploaded in a ZIP file
  • Existing files can be optionally overwritten
  • Unpacked files are flattened i.e. directories inside the ZIP file are ignored
  1. Place the files you want to upload in a ZIP file. There are several ways to do this e.g.:
    • Windows – in Files Explorer, select multiple files > right-click > Send to > Compressed (ZIP) folder
    • macOS – in Finder, select multiple files > Cmd/right+click > Compress n items
  2. Browse to the web page you want to upload the ZIP file to.
  3. Go to Edit > More > Files tab. You can see a list of all the files, if any, currently uploaded to the page.
  4. Select the Upload button in the toolbar.

  6. Locate the ZIP file you wish to upload.
  7. Select the Upload button.
  8. On the next screen, you're asked how you want to upload the file. To upload the ZIP file without extracting the contents, select the Upload as zip button.

  9. To extract the contents of the ZIP file to the Files tab in SiteBuilder, select the Extract files button:

    Extract files

  10. You can now see each file:

    Unpack a ZIP file screen

  11. Choose the files you wish to extract by selecting the checkbox alongside each file.
  12. Optionally, specify a short tile for the files. The short title appears in the contents list page template. You can use this property to help make a list of files such as course notes more readable. For example, a short title of Classical Studies CS101 reading list is simpler to read than the file name cs101-reading.docx. The Short title field defaults to the file name and you can edit it later in file properties.
  13. Select the Unpack button. You should now see your files listed on the Files tab.
