Scanned images in presentations
If you need to scan images for use in PowerPoint presentations, please contact us to see if this can be done under the CLA licence, unless you have been able to negotiate permission directly with the owner of the rights to the image.
- Any presentation containing CLA licensed images should remain within a secure network area accessible only to the students registered on the module and the staff teaching it
- The Library will need to know the details in order to include them in the report to the CLA under the terms of the licence
- Every image scanned under the CLA licence will carry its own copyright notice (see below) as a watermark or caption on the extended canvas of the image file itself
- Such a caption can be allowed to drop off the visible display area of the slide on which the image may be inserted. In this case a small, visible note on the slide should mention the image is a “CLA licensed copyright image – see last/first slide”
In either case an additional slide should be added either at the beginning or at the end of the presentation. This slide should contain the CLA copyright notice mentioning the module course and title for which the included images are intended:
This Digital Copy should not be downloaded or printed by anyone other than a student enrolled on the named course or the course tutor(s).

This Digital Copy and any digital or printed copy supplied to or made by you under the terms of this Licence are for use in connection with this Course of Study. You may retain such copies after the end of the course, but strictly for your own personal use.

The author (which term includes artists and other visual creators) has moral rights in the work and neither staff nor students may cause, or permit, the distortion, mutilation or other modification of the work, or any other derogatory treatment of it, which would be prejudicial to the honour or reputation of the author.
