The Coull Quartet is the University of Warwick's String Quartet in Residence. They are heavily involved in the musical life of the university, from playing for functions for official events, to helping with the Symphony Orchestra, taking sectionals and conducting the String Orchestra. As part of their ongoing support for the Music Centre they are offering a student the chance to get a music bursary, worth 12 hours of lessons (at £30 an hour). To apply for the Bursary applicants should come into the Music Office and get a Bursary application form, having registered on our contact system. The deadline for application is the 14th October 2011 and the auditions will take place on Thursday 20th and Friday 21st October in the Music Centre. Applicants are expected to do the following:
- Play two contrasting works of total duration (for both) no more than 8 mins.
- May be asked to perform at sight
- Short interview with the panel, discussing previous musical experience etc.
An accompanist is available free of charge to those who request one on their form (they must provide music when handing the form in)
